Norman Brierley of 2K+ International Sports Media receives the Trinity Trophy for broadcasting excellence from TBN’s Alan Weimann

The Trinity Trophy for Broadcasting Excellence was won by 2K+ International Sports Media – “This organisation has given coverage of International sporting activities a whole new meaning by adopting a Christian stance.  Their productions are relevant, interesting, challenging and most of all punctual in delivery.  Their coverage of the Soccer World Cup was most beneficial especially that they had interviews with the actual players and not about the players.  Interviews were carried in the vernacular of the players and then a translated script was provided for the benefit of radio stations producers wanting to adopt the program as their own.  This facility equipped stations, keeping them on top of their game in sport. “

The Kenneth Copeland Award for Community Involvement was won this year by KNI Radio – “KNI Radio has made significant contributions to their community over the past year, by their own involvement, and by motivating others to help.  The amount of financial support that they have raised is impressive, and the relationship they have established with government to assist is not easy to do.  They focused on meeting the physical needs of the community, from students to families, and have contributed to providing a higher quality of life for the community.  Well done, especially to those who went out and put the word in action in the school makeover.”

The Focus on the Family Award for promoting the family was won by Good News Community Radio – “GNCR seems to pour a lot of time and energy into producing their own original family programmes, ensuring very relevant content for the local listeners.  Not many stations will give as much time and attention into producing children’s programming, in particular.  But the thing that stands out the most is your care and concern for a group of children in the community that is often overlooked and left out of normal children’s activities – the children from Sunfield Homes.   To put a smile on the face of just one of these children must be so rewarding.  You are not just contributing to the children, but are bringing hope and encouragement to all families involved too.  Well done!”
